“Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.” - Carrie Fisher
People often wonder why there are so few women in tech (not to mention women in blockchain/crypto). There’s a myriad of reasons - but one of them is these “images” that turn people away from choosing a field that they are interested in - because they don’t fit that mould. I know, because I’ve been there, except it was my elementary schools teacher. Apparently, being a girl meant “no tech roles for me” in my future.
Memes like this are unacceptable - this idea and this mentality of what it means to be “girly” need to be shattered. More than anything, we need to have women sharing stories and providing support to the new generation of developers and women in tech. So if anyone wants to learn more about blockchain, Ethereum development, or just generally talk about increasing diversity in tech and blockchain, send me an email, send me a message on LinkedIn, or comment on the post below.
